40th 'Antiversoty
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hodgins of
Lucknow were honoured last Sat-
.urday, when sixty relatives and
friends gathered at,the home of
his sister-in-law Mrs. Harvey
Kinlough, to celebrate
their 40th wedding anniversary.
The actual date of their wed-
ding was November 9th, 1932.
Mrs. Hodgins is the fortner Irene
Marsh of Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs. Hodgins have a
family of seven boys, who were
all present with their families,
Clayton arid Ruth of Clinton;
Melvin and Barb, Alvin and
Alma, Laverne and Sonya, Ches-
ter and Ann and their families, •
all of London; Lynn and Mervin,
both of-Lucknow.
Also present were Mr. and'Mrs.
Jack Thomson of North Bay, Mr.'
and Mts. William Clements of.
London, Mr. and. Mrs. Ed Marsh
of Wingharno Leonard Stanley of
Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Art Thom-
son of Godetich, Mr. • and 'Mrs.
Ken Hodgins and family of Niagr
ara Falls, Mts. George Robertson
of Kincardine, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
fred Gerson of Bervie, Tom Mc-
Farlane of Kinlough; Mr. and'
Mrs. Ezra Stanley, Mrs. Sam
Stanley and Mrs. Alvin Schmidt
of Lucknow and other friends of
the area , numbering sixty in all.
During the evening the follow7
ing'address was read and the
honoured couple were presented
with gifts and money.

The Kairshea Women's Insti-
tute entertained their husbands
and family's, to'a "Pot Luck"
supper at the Institute Hall Satur-
day evening. Some 75 adults and
children enjoyed a smorgasbord .
supper supplied - by. the ladies.
Music was supplied by Mrs.'
John Needham., Mrs, Harvey
iouston,and Ira Dickie.
The speaker for the evening.
EllwOod Irwin of Sarnia was in-
troduced by Mrs. Allan MacIn-
tyre. Ellw.00d and Joan were
known -to most of the crowd , both
growing up in the' community.

in the Canadian-Russia hockey
game. He answered many clues-
tionS from the audience as also did
his wife Joan. Although it was a
great opportunity and thrill to take
such a trip at such a time, he
left the impression with the aud-
ience that he was glad to be a
Canadian and concluded by say-
ing he thought 0 Canada should be
sung more often at meetings and
gatherings.
Mrs. Bob Gilchrist thanked the
speaker and presented him with a
gift. Mrs. Ira Diekie
thanked the directors for an enjoy-
able evening and the evening
closed by singing "0 Canada".

were supper guests on Sunday with
