P . Frank Thompson, welcomed the
members. present.' Vern Inglis act-
ed as Secretary for the meeting. ,
Dobbinton, Warden of Bruce
County welched the members
of the Association. Mr. Davis
spoke of his experiences as a beef
producer in Bruce County.
Herb Kuntz, area representa-
tiVe of the Farm Mutual Reinsuran-
ce Plan spoke to the members of
the several increased costs to
member companies which have
taken place in the past fEw years.
Mr. Kuntz stated that ultimately
these costs must be passed on to
the insuring public in higher rates.
The President, Emory Knill,
spoke to the meeting and brought
greetings from the Mutual Fire
Underwriters AssociatiOn of Ont-
ario. Mr. Knill spoke about the
need to have a better acceptance •
of the new Association Rate Man-
ual. He asked companies to be
ever mindful of the loss ratios
and the need for surplus for the
protection of the policyholders.

to the group on • the need for agen-
cy contracts for Mutual Compan-
ies and Agents.

and Mrs. Ernie Gibson were at
the organ and piano.

KINGSBRIDGE NEWS
On Wednesday. evening, open-
ing ceremonies were held kir the
new portable classroom at St.
Joseph's school._ The new room
was blessed by Rev Fr. Ed Den-,
anger. Mr. Clem Sterner, Prin-
cipal, introduced Mr. Oscar
Kieffer, school representative for
Huron Separate Schools; who •
officially opened the new class-
room by cutting of the ribbon
held by two grade four pupils of
that room, Darlene and Debbie
Austin, twin daughters of Mr...and
Mrs. Eldon Austin. Mrs. Anne
Sheardown replied on behalf of
herself and her students. A meet-'
ing was then held in the'school
gym when the Reading Program
-introduced in the school was ex--
plained to'the parents.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Derk Logtenburg on the arrival
of a new daughter born recently at
the Goderich Hospital.
Also, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Milt-
enburg of Welland are the proud
parents of a baby daughter, their
first child, who arrived on Octob-

7-church hall to honour Helen,Court
ney, bride-elect, of Goderich,
formerly Ashfield.
Anita Hogan was chairman for
a short program. Mrs.' Raymond
Leddy of Lucknow; aunt of the
bride-to-be, read two poenis,
one of which she composed. her-
self. Sheila Sinnett and Cheryl.
MacLennan danced a Scottish
dance while Marianne Frayne and
Kathy O'Keefe favoured with 'two
songs. A humorous song,
"Helen's Romance", composed by
the Hogan sisters was 'sung by a
number of. Kingsbridge girls.- An
address on behalf of everyone
present was read to the bride by
Anita Hogan. LL Helen was assisted
in opening her many lovely
gifts by, her sisters, Mrs, Percy
McClenaghan and Ursula

start of the new year with an
organizational meeting held at
Bill Kemptons on the week end.
