The • president Janet Adams opened the meeting with all repeating the 4-H pledge. The secretary Kathy Wybenga read the minutes and called the roll answered by 10 members giv- ing a menu for their listed din- ners. Notes were given by Mrs. Elliott on Salads. • Demonstrations were dOne by Kathy Purdan making jelly salad with lettuce , carrots , celery ; , onion. Linda 'Moore made a tossed salad of vegetables. Wendy England made French dressing and this was put on Linda's tossed salad. As group work all sampled` thederflonstra- dons. The next meeting is Saturday, November .4 at 9 a.m. at Mrs. Walter Elliotts. Mrs. Sleightholm assistant leader checked the note books_ Yoang and Mrs. Dan Maclnnes for leading us through once more. 7c LB. She Saw .(and heard)" live turkeys at the home of the George Gibson's at Amberley. ThenThilip Foster Of Sheppard- ton took her on a tour of the barn which houses many beef cattle, and pigs. At Frank Pentland's she'rodf ,for the first time in a' truck and a tractor and even drove: the. latter. Frank also introduced her to his dairy and hen-house. She, saw a lot of garden produce at the summer home of LaVerrie who makes'gard'ening one of his retirement hobbies. Another 7-- hobby is collecting vintage trac- tors which she heard in action. Lariy and Nellie Pentland showed her around their large dairy' set- up, the mows of hay and straw , and the silos. One Of the other interesting experiences was a real farm party the Euchre Party and =prose Mrs. Wm. Caesar. • It was held' in in the home of Larry and Nellie • Pentland with Nellie and Mrs. Wilfred Pentland is hostesses. Yvonne got a very favoutable • impression of the friendliness and hospitality of a r farming com- munity, and returned to Toronto with a better idea of how thous- ands of farm people of Ontario work and holidaying with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bowden, Bill' ,and Debbie, Dungannon.. • Bill Wiggins returned home from Wingham hospital 'on "Tues- . --daY-.---We-hope--he-continues—to feel improved. . Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Elliott -are-moving to •Goderich this week ta a new apartment. Mr. .and Mrs. Harold. Good of Goderich have purchased the Elliott proper- ty. ' Mr. and ,Mrs. Fred Stirling and Darlene of Thamesville visited' this week, end with Mr. and Mrs.. Robt. Irvin. A large number, of Otangemen attended Dungannon United Church Service•on Sunday morn- ing. Rev. Clarence McClenag- han's sermon was entitled "As Ones. Who Serves". Last week end, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Olson visited Mr. and MrS. Wm. Berry at 'inlay City, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stasiuk at -Mime Nliclugan. Mrs'. Mary Rivett of Goderich spent several days this week with Mr. ..and Mrs. Thos.' Webster. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson attended a ceremony at 'McMast- er University Friday evening when H. D.
