He doesn't want to' stand on arribbon cutting, hand shaking, flag
waving campaign - that's for the birds. Charlie wants a better
Huron Riding and he means it. He's a digger not a scratcher. He'll
discover thcise area problerns and he'll meet the people concerned
"fate to face to discuss them. And he's not afraid of getting his'
boots dirty if its going,to promote Huron and Middlesex.
He's a member of the Tax Review Committee of County Council
-and-a-member of the-Social-Sewites-GomMitt-ee4-He-belongs-to
Many Federal and Procincial animal breeding associations. He's
served on the Regional Development' Council for eight. years -
latterly as vice-president and 'he's served on the Huron Planning
Board"- last year as chairman. •
Charlie is a farmer and understands farming Problems. He's
convinced that the sugar beet industry could be revived in Huron
—Stimulation-of-local-industrY is-another-key-issue Charlie, believes
in. He wants to give incentives to light ''industry to boost local
economy. And he wants to. Make sure the 'brains' of Huron and
Middlesex stay in • Huron Riding instead of heading south or to
TY • the cities.
A better Huron Riding is worth fighting for. Charlie ThOmas is a
fighter.
and Middlesex: He feels there are better ways Of marketing corn
in peak periods and he'd like to encourage more Canadian farmers
to become involved in liveStOck breeding.. .
And Charlie will fight for other benefits, top: For instance, he'd
like , more area development, he believes in.Goderich Harbor as a
potenti4I ,Great Lakes port, .he feels 'that Sky Harbor airport
should be maintained and would fight fora Subsidy, 'if necessary.

Franc Stroop, age 49, R. R. 5,
Brussels, fell approximately 20 to
30 ft. from a hay loft at his home
farm October 16 and was admitted
to hospital with a possible fractur ,
ed spine.
David Currie,, age 2, Wingham,
. son of. Mr. and Mn.i Bruce Currie,
fell from the high chair at his •
home and injured his face and .

IWroxeter , 'was working at the corn
;October 17 when he caught his
!coat sleeve in the •Forage Harvest-
ler. He received head injuries and
'a fractured right arm. • ,
Donald Thompson, Teeswater,
fell on the grounds of the Tees- ,
water Creamery October 18 and
dislocated his right shoulder. He
was treated and later
released.
Mrs. Chris (Charlotte) Cooke,
age 65 , R. R. 2 Lucknow , lost
control of the car she was driving
in Dungannon and landed in a
ditch. She was admitted to hos-
pital with fractures to the right
leg and left hand.
Eldon Culbert , R. R. 6, God-
erich, fractured his left hand .
'October 19 when a spinner on the
tractor lYe,was driving struck his.
hand on his home farm. ,
Mrs. Robert (Flora) Fear, R.R.
3, Blyth, fell at home and fract-
ured her right. ankle. ,
Jeffrey Wall,. age 1,, Wingham ,
son of Mr. and Mrs. William ' •

arm. He was admitted to hospit=

MRS. J.A. Mc KENDRICK
The death of Mrs. James A.
McKendrick 'of Newmarket
occurred on Friday, October 13th
in York Manor Nursing Home 'in,
her 86th year.
She was born at Paramount on
April 18th, 1887, a daughter of
onald Maira.y-anki-Martha=1Q
On April 16th, 1913 she was
married 'at Paramount to James
A. McKendrick. He passed away
a number of 'yeari ago.
At one time, Mr. and Mrs.
McKendrick ran a General
Store at Lochalsh.
Mrs. McKendrick is survived by
six daughters Mrs. L. (Isobel)

Hamilton; Mrs. S. (Bertha)

Brandon, Manitoba; 15 grand-
children and 21 great grandchild-
ren.
Besides her husband she was
predeceased by one son'James
Murray on August 25th of this

MacKenzie 1Viemoiial Chapel,
Lucknow on Monday, October 16
at 2 p.m.
Rev. Glerin Noble, minister of
Lucknow Pkesbyterian Church

was organist.
Pallbearers were Doug Davis,
John Geary, James McKendrick,
.Warren Riddell, Wm. Cunning-
ham and Wallace King.
Interment was in Lochalsh
Cemetery.
