Church 'Women met at the home'
of Mrs. Armstrong Wilson Tues-day October 361 for the October
meeting.
President Mrs. Charles Ander-
son opened the meeting with
Psalm 100. The roll call was
answered With a donation to the
blanket fund. Eighteen members
and one visitor were present,
Mrs.• Kenneth Cameron read the financial report and an interesting
reading from the 9bserver,
Mrs..Clarence Hitcher, Supply
& Welfare , is accepting any
blanket fund donations. She re-
minded us of the gifts for the
Victor Home for Girls.

• On October third, Unit 2 of
Lodknow United Church Women
met at the home of Misses Ada
and'Elazel Webster.
Mrs. Eidon Henderson welcomed
15 members arid 1 visitor. She •
opened the meeting with a poem
"Thanksgiving To-day", followed
with a hymn and prayer. The
minutes' of the last meeting were
read and the treasurer's report
given. The roll call was answered
with a verse containing thanks.0
The fowl supr and the visit to
Briteelea Haven were discussed-.
Mrs: Wraith gave the visitor's
report. The offering was receiv-
ed with a-special collection for
blankets. •
Mrs. Peter Cook began the' pro-
gram with a reading"The Firit -
Thanksgiving Day". Miss Ada
Webster gave an interesting
account of the origin of Thanks t. -
giving and Mrs. Raynard had .a
reading "Thankful for'Life".
Mrs:Mae-Nay -gave-the„ scripture _
and meditation. Mrs..Magoffin
introduced the guest speaker, Mrs.
Victor Emerson of Whitechurch.
Her topic was "My. Neighbour"
and she told us of the importance
of good neighbours in our
daily lives. Mrs. 13uckingham
played a selection on the organ'
and Mrs. Wraith gave a reading
"The-Scarlet Maple Tree". .Mrs
Cook closed the meeting with
prayer and lunch was served.

Women's League held their Octob.

Mrs. John Austin, Church Life
Convener, gave the Scripture
Reading. She reminded mem-
bers io,recite the rosary. during
October and to keep the first
Saturday of each month. 'the
prayer for vocations was said.
The minutes of the last meet-
ing- were-read.--A-complete,

Meeting held in Goderich on
September 20 was available for
members to read. Among the
correspondence read was arrinvita-
don from the Trinity U.C. W.
for members -and their husbands =
to attend the/ Fall Thankoffering
on October 12 at 8.3 0.p.m. with
Dr. -K. Lambert of Goderich as
guest speaker. The. Treasurer's
report, was given. Plates and
Cook Books will be available for

evening and Sunday morning. Mrs.

ing and it closed with prayer.

Father McQuire C.R. of Kitch-
ener who gave a most interesting
commentary accompanied with
excellent slides of Bolivia. He
was thanked and presented with a
gift by Mrs. Joe O'Keefe. During
lunch the Mystery Prize was won
by Mrs. Antone Van Osch. .
Unit 4 Thanksgiving meet=
ing of Lucknow .U.C. W. was held
at the home of Mrs, Bob McIn-
tosh with 16 attending.
Prior to the meeting a few of
the ladies went up to , Pinecrest
Manor and entertained the resid-
ents there:
Mrs. Leonard Ritchie opened
the meeting with us singing"W

the business with a reading "A .
Real Thanksgiving". Mrs. Kay
Crawford gave the treasurer's
report. - The roll call was answer-
ed by a collection towards blank-
ets. Mrs. Ackert thanked Mrs.
McIntosh for the use of her home
and 'the committee for their pro:-
gramrne. Mrs. Jack Treleaven
and Mrs. Gordon Cayley were also
thanked for their help up at the
Horne,before the -meeting, Mrs.
Ackert mentioned that the Church
calendars for '73 are being ordered
from Mrs. Kay Crawford. The
General- meeting is being held
December 14; also the Pall Thank-
