Mrs. Anderson was re- moved to Wingham Hospital by .arnbulance and -was able -to re- turn home Saturday. She suffered from shock but no injuries.' The high school at Ripley has experienced successive drops in enrolment until this year it is at a low of 95 pupils. The results are 'empty classrooms, other facilities not used to their capacities and an increase in per-pupil, educa- tion costs to about 400/0 above the county's $1',080 average. Meanwhile , the public school population shows growth. A two-car collision on the 12th of Ashfield just west of the Luck- now -Dungannon road , about 4 p.m. on Wednesday of last ,week resulted in Miner injuries to those involved. Shelly and Dawn Wraith, daugh- ters of Mr. and Mrs. Rod Wraith of WingliaM, were expected to be released from Wingham Hospital the middle of this week. They were hospitalized after Ang-,Itruck by-a-car_while_ coming home from school on Fri- day noon last week. Shelly is 5 and- is in kindergart- en and Dawn, 8, is in grade 3 at Wingham Public School. The children were running along the edge of Stutter Street-in Wingham on their way home. It was rain- ing and Mrs. Jack Gorrie of Wing- ham was bringing a load of child- rell-bOtne_ltom_school when she struck the Wraith, ehildren from behind. She was travelling slowly at the time or the children would no-doubt have been more seriously injured. The accident happened just a fter the car had come over the railway tracks on that street. Shelly had concussion., bruises and scrapes while Dawn received bruises and scrapes. Their parents are fOrmer Luck- now residents. Rod Wraith is the son-of Mr, and Misr jack Wraith Of Lucknow and Mrs. Wraith is the former Suter , daughter of jvirs, Elizabeth Suter, formerly of Luc know. , The board proposed that senior classes from the, elementary school be moved into vacant rooms'in the high school. The two school buildings are on the sa-me-street-and-only-35.0_yaxds_____ apart minimizing administra- tion problems. , -The-nriajor reason for -1101LT in high sChOol enrolment at Ripley is/that an increasing number of students are opting for commer- cial and technical courses the number increasing to 105 from 69 in two terms. These students are bused to Wingham Secondary School in Huron County. It is thought that by next term an addition to the high school:in Kincardine ,-about 10 miles from Ripley will be completed and 'the vocationaLsubjectsimill be available there. ' The change should reduce per- pupil costs for secondary educa- tion at Ripley ,,according to J. L. For .the past three years, Mr. - -McKeon-has been upgrading his education at Brock University in St. Catharines. where he receiv- ed hi&teacItingeertificate at'the College of iodutation. At the present time Mr. Mc- Keon is, living in Lucknow, and plans to continue his studies at the University of Western Ontario.
