stage. The school displays con-
taining several hundred individual
entries, were the most colourful,
varied, and interesting ever seen,
in the long 'history of Ripley-show .

and one exhibitors placed'entries -
both in the high schoOl auditorium
and township hall: Arrangements

Stewart Shiells and Mrs. Alex
MacAuley for a pot' luck dinner"
for the directors at noon,.
Later in the afternoon Mrs.
Gordon Stanley arranged for cof-*
fee and cookies for lunch. It was
a beehive of actiVity ,as the jud-
ges examined the entries and
awarded the pr4es.
Judging the sealers of canned
fruit, jams, jellies, and pickles
was' Mrs. Bert Alton of Ashfield
Township and the.directors worl-
ing with her were Mrs. Wm. J.
Arnold Mrs. lick-MacLean (con.
8), and Mrs., Wallace Pollock.
Placing the baking entries was
Mrs, Norman Dietrick of Mild-
may and with her were directors
Mrs. Morris Reid, Mrs. Russ. Need
ham and Mrs. Pete Bissonnette.

GIRL GUIDE. NEWS'
The Lucknow Girl Guides open-
ed their first meeting on S,eptem-
ber 28th with roll call,
The :girls filled out a question-
naire in patrol corners. Captain
led the girls in two relay races,
followed by campfire.
The meeting closed with vesp-
ers and taps.
