The parade, will be led by the Teeswater Highlanders Pipe 'Band and will feature the schools, floats, saddle ponies, antique cars, decorated bicycles and tri- cycles. Master of ceremonies will be Hump's own Don ivlac- Tavish and the. fair will be offic- ially opened by Harvey L. Davis of Dobbinton, who is the warden. of Bruce County this year and a . prominent/beef farmer. In the parade will be the Bruce County Dairy Princess Katherine'Craig, Taking part in the afternoon's program will be Dav- id Bannerman and Lou Core , and the Mildmay Stepping Five. The midway operated •toy Mr ,, and Mrs. Len Leverton will be on the grounds also Brian Shewfelt will be down from Kincardine with his pony rides. The entertainment committee for the afternoon pro- gram-includes-John-C,MacDon - aid , Mrs, Howard Thompson,. and Bob Rutledge. The ladies of the Lisburn Women's Institute ill be in charge of the refresh- ment booth aided by members of the Ripley Junior Farmers. Also helping at the gates and, with parking will be the members of the Ripley and District Lions Club and once again members of . the Junior Farmers. Don Mason of Kincardine will be at the park with his public addresS system. • $ * * By the time this paper, is print- ed ,for its readers, President •Leit- er Ferguson will have had a few work meetings each evening this week getting the auditorium of the Ripley District High School, the Huron township hall, and the Community Park ready, The people of this area have always been good to turn out for these work bees. • S S fp; * Convener Mrs. Gordon Stanley, secretary Mrs, Wm. Also Miss Margaret Machan's art and craft classes at /the Ripley District High School this past year. will have many fine quality exhibits. Then there was 'a icture of Bruce County Warden Harvey Davis of Dobbinton who was !recently appointed to the tario Press Council. - the only farmer on this,board. Accompany ing his picture was an. article tell- ing about,, Mr. Davis operating a 700 acre farm and that he is the president of the Bruce County CONTINUED ON PAGE 16 at the former Malcolm Macleod farm., now operated by a London doctor. The farm is located one block west of Ripley on the eighth concession towards Pine River.
