WM. W. HOGAN
The death of William W. Hog-
an of Lucknow occurred at Wing-
ham and District Hospital on
Tuesday , August 22nd in his 91st
year. He was born in Ashfield
Township on Mara l7, 1882 and
was the last member of a family
of eight born to -William Hogan
and his wife Mary Dean.
Mr. Hogan was' predeceased by
five brothers Father John, Father
James, Michael, Patrick and
Joseph and two sisters Mrs. John
(Margaret) Brady. and Mrs. Bern-
ard (Mary) Brady.
He is survived by his wife', the
former Mary Kelly of Lucan, who
he married on May 15 , 1918'. •
Following their marriage Mr.
and Mrs. Hogan farmed in Ash-
field Township until 1964, when'
they retired to LuCknow , where
they bought a home-orrWheeler---
Street.
Mr. and Mrs. Hogan
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in May 1968.
• The funeral service was held.

inger. officiating. Burial was in
Kingsbridge Cemetery.

The, Langside C.O.C. held its
regular meeting Sunday in the
hall. Nancy de Boer led every-
one' in a singsong. Mrs. Wybenf

meeting closed with the Lord's
Prayer.

Mrs, 'Bessie B. (Stickney)
Smeltzer , wife of Gordon E.
Smeltzer of Lake Edith, jasper,
Alberta, passed away on August
29th, 1972 in the Allan Gray
Auxiliary Hospital in Edmonton
following a lengthy illness. She
was 78.
Besides her husband Mrs.
Smeltzer is survived by one son
and two daughter's H. Keith

• The Tops Club held their week-
ly meeting at the LucknoW Town
Hall on Wednesday night, Sept-
ember 6th. Five new members
-joined this weli and- it-was- decid-
ed to limit the club to 35' mem-
bers.
Jane 'Treleaven, the leader ;
discussed the purpose of the club
and it's by-laws and answered atty
questions.
Dr. Jack McKim is to 'be invit-
ed to the next meeting. .
