COL WELL - REID Shirley Anne Reid and John -Bruce Colwell exchanged mar- riage• vows August 26 at 3 p.m. in Pine River United Church with Rev. John Hill officiating for —their-double_ring.c The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Reid of R. R. #1,Ripley. The groom is the son„ of Mr. Currie Colwell of R. R. # 5 Lucluiow, and the late Mrs. Raynard Ackert of Holyrood was soloist and the wedding music was played, by Miss Anne Ferguson at.theo, organ and Mrs. Wayne Lowry at the piano. Given in marriage by her fath- er_,the bride chose a floor-length goWnii of , white peau de soie. Guipuire lace and pearls covered the bodice and short sie,eves to the empire waist and the full, flounced skirt 'flowed into a cathedral train. A juliet cap held her s oula er length veil of silk illusion and she car- ried a cascade of pink sweetheart ' roses, baby white mums and stephanotis. Mrs. Nancy Brown of Lucknow was matron of; honour. Brides- maids were Misses Betty and Anne Colwell, sisters of the groom, Miss. Mary . Elizabeth Walden. and Mrs. Pam Cornelius of London. They were gowned alike in floral blue polyester sheer over taffeta styled with an empiie waist, puf- fed sleeves and a ruffle around the bottom of the skirt. Each carried a boucluet,of white daisies and blue tinted babies breath. Mac MatIruies was groomsman. Ushers were Allen Colwell .of Toronto, Daniel Dodds of Ripley , Lynne and Brian Reid, brothers of the bride. The groom and his attendants were attired in dark grey tuxedos, with blue ruffled shirts and black bow, ties. • , ,The bride's mother received guests , at the dinner in the church parlour, wearing a floor-length dress of mauve chiffon with match. ing .accessories and a yellow sweetheart rose corsage. The groom's giandmother, Mrs. Wm. Eadie assisted' wearing -a =oar - g le.ne with silver trim; white ac - cessories and yellow rosecorsage. ,For a wedding trip to Northern Ontario and Manitoba the bride changed to a double knit navy dreSs r 'navy accessories and a yellow and white rosecorsage.. Bruce and Shirley will reside at 1050 Poveriet, Apartment 106 , Winnipeg, Manitoba. , Prior to her marriage Shirley was honoured at, showers given by the' Farrell relatives, the.
