‘appearance of the Sunkist Kid
from Citrus, Ca.lifornia , who bore
a resemblance to Brenda Bushell
of Lucknow. Sunkist made it
about 'a quarter' of the way down
the hill when the 'machine over-
turned. Sunkist wis—unhurt with
the exception of a few bruises.
• Six heats were run with the
first place winners running, off in
'two heats in the lemi finals.
Winners in the semi final were
David Emberlin 1, Kevin Kil-

A penny carnival in the arena
ended with a dance by the Ranch
Boys from Wingharn. 'Once again,
the ddnce crowd was very small.
A great deal of interest was creat-
ed at the carnival by tlieacti
around the "dunking board",
where a number of area residents
challenged the' spectators to kno4
them into the water tank.
On Saturday, the first event of',
the day was a car rally at 11 a.m.
Mr. and Mrs.. Del Burkhart'of
Wingham were the only entry in
the experienced class and won the
Jim MacDonald and Peter Chis-
holm won/ the novice class,.
Others entered were Bill Irvin and
Ivan Cranston Dave and Gord
Black,
At 1 p.m. a main street parade
featured children from the ksum-
--mer-tecreation_program,antique
cats, soap boxes and girls entered
in the Miss Lucknow Fair Contest.
At 2 p.m. a soap box derby at
the hill near the old public school
drew many entries and a good
crowd of spectators.
At 7 p.m. a softball game was'
scheduled between•LucknOw Bus-
ess_Men and area Reeves and
Councils. 'Weather threatened to '
postpone this, but enough turned
up that an unofficial game was
played ending in a 10-10 draw.
.The .two day event ended with
the choosing of Miss. Lucknow
Fall .Fair at a dance in the arena
on Saturday night to 'music of
--The Cal=lous.-Blue.- 'wad-well-
attended,,.. •
the Lucknow Recreation Planning
and Development Committee.
Proceeds are for community im-
provement projects.
