Around 60 attended. The sports committee had planned a ball game , races and games. At 5.30 a smorgasbord was en- joyed. After supper a short business meeting was presided over by the President Ceeil Raynard. Joe Raynard was elected president for 1971 and his wife. Beatrice as secretary-treasurer. The folk from Ethel are in' charge of lunch for next year and the St: Helens folk in charge of sports. The MacFarlane family tree wa discussed and Mrs. Gordon (Janet) MacPherson left in charge of it. The 19.73 picnic is to be held• the second Sunday Of July at the Bluevale Park. • held the August Meeting in, their hall with 18 members Present. The' roll call was answered with a News Item pertaining, to Aviculture. Final plans were Made for the Hafaa - - Gaunt presented a very interesting topic on ." Milk". Mrs. F/tussel St. Helens W.I. Plan Fair Exhibit -t. Helens--Women"s-Institute Phillips read the motto "If you think the, World is Wrong take a look at ypurself", prepared by Mrs. Chris Cook. Mis. Ernest Gaunt gave a very interesting- demonitration on the- use of a blender. The ladies were treated with the soups and drinks that Isobel made up. Mrs. E. W. Rice gave a piano instrumental. The meeting closed with 0 Canada and a social time was enjoyed with Mrs. Lloyd Whytock and. Donald' Courtney , capably convened the event and in his opening remarks extended 'a wel- come to_about_80_ people —Irene__ Liddle acted as secretary. Every- one enjoyed a sing-a-long led by Joyce-Courtney 'and accompanied on the piano by Geraldine Mac- Leod. Lloyd' Courtney, Jim Nesbitt, Lorne Cameron and Danny Keller acted as, judges for the folIoWing Couple married the longest, Mr. and Mrs. John Emmerton of R. 1 Ripley; Family coming the farth- est distance , Mrs. Jean Reid and Karen Reid of Strathroy; Largest family present, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Courtney, and family 'of R. 1 Ripley; Youngest child pres- . ent and boy with the shortest hair, Denice and Stever; Court- ney, children•of Mr. and Mrs. =Gary-C-cfurtney-of -R. 1-Ripley, Gir1- with the shortest skirt, Heather Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harris of R. 2 Ripley; Boy with the most freckles, Jamie Liddle of R.,2 Ripley; Girl with the longest hair ,. It was decidedi to hold another 'reunion in 2' years, with Lloyd Courtney of London and Pearl MacKay of R. 4 Ripley nominated as conveners. Bob Courtney in his remarks to the gathering reviewed some of the • family history. Leonard ,Courtney was called on for a few re-marks. Mrs. FlorencenCOUrt- ney suggested another year we should use name tags. Mrs. Eliza- beth.Sallows suggested that the • descendents of each member of the 'original family stand up as a group. The largest group repres- ented were the descendents ,of the late Harry Courtney and Olivia • Nesbitt. Chester Emmerton of Kitch- ener voiced appreciation to the committee in charge - Mr. and Mrs. Donald Courtney, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Courtney and Mr.. and mi. Doug Liddle. Refreshments and lunch brougbt the afternoon to a close.
