On Sunday, July 23 the descend ants of James. Smith and Margaret Mallough gathered at Harbour Park, Goderich for their annual picnic. Over 100 relatives attend ed from Montreal, Port Albernie, B.C., Winnipeg , Huntsville, Ridgetown, Lucknow, Dungannon, Auburn, Goderich. The picnic will be held in 19'13 at Harbour, Park the 4th Sund4 in 'My with dinner at one- o'clock. In charge of program and lunch, the committee were, Marj- orie Brook, Elsie Hardy, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrie Glen, Mr. and Mrs. Allister Nivins, Mr. and Mrs. DouglarBrind . The marriage of Miss- Nancy MacKay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allister MacKay' of R. R. 4 Ripley and Mr. Edward J. Brown, sori of Mr. and Mrs.' Cyril Brown of Lucknow took place on Satur- day, july 15 at 3 p.m. in Knox • Presbyterian Church;Ripler.--7— The front of the church had light- ed white candelabra 'on each side., which had in the centre mixed flowers including pink, white and blue carnations, fuschia mums, white and yellow daisies and green fern. The pews were marked with lighted white cand- les and white satin bows. '• Rev. George Ball of Ripley of- ficiated at the double ring cere- mony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a flock- length gown of white crystalette featuring an'empire waist and long sleeves and cuffs trimmed with white, guipuire lace. Lace trim- med the high'neck and down the front and 'back of dress with the skirt flowing into a train at' back, Her headpiece of white roses and lily of the valley held a waist- length veil, appliqued with small flowers around the edge. She 'carried a' cascade bouquet of mixed flowers of .white and yellow. daisies , pink Carnations, blue button mums , fuschia mums and 'green fern. Mayen-ef-heneur was Mrs. Judy- Finlayson of Teeswater, sister of the bride. She Wore a floor - length gown, of green and white 'flowered polyester crepe with stand -up .collar , empire waist , A - line_skirt_and:sbort puffecLsleev es . Bridesmaids Were Miss Margar- et MacKay, Miss Elizabeth Mac-, Kay , both of R. R. 4 Ripley and sisters of the bride, and Miss • Carol Brown of Lucknow , sister of the groom. They wore iden- tically styled gowns as that of the matron of honour but each ' in a different colour,, mauve and white, yellow and white and pink and white respectively. They all carried identical flowers , 'white baskets containing white and yellow daisies, pink carnations, blue asters , fuschia mums and green fern. Allison MacKay of R. A. 4 Ripley was flower girl. She wore a dress styled the same a's the other attendants in blue and white and carried sithilar flowers. john Finlayson of Teeswater; ,nephew of the bride t:sias ring bearer. Percy McClenaghan of Listow- el was groomsman. Ushers were Wayne Miller of Picton, Doug Coultes of Ripley and Jack Hussey of Walkerton. Soloist was Norm Dunsmoor of -Kincardine:- Organist was Mrs. Doug' Martyn of R.'R• 3 Lucknow. A dinner was served in the -Riffey Diitridt -High School .PORP4 GROVE Mr. and Mrs. Randy MacDon- ald and Tammy , Mrs. Claude , Dore Sr. of Bervie and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson and Robbie spent Sunday evening with' Mr. and Mrs. HarVie Thompson, Don- nie and Wray. Reverend' and Mn. George Honor and Marion of Ignace , Ont. ario are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson. Mrs. Dwaine‘Gregg and girls of Clifford holidayed last Week with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gawl- ey. Mr. and Mrs. Doug MacDon- ald and Andrew spent a few days last week camping around Corn- wall and Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Don Dore and family and Mrs. Claude Dore Sr. journeyed to Durham on Sunday to visit Mr._and Mrs._ Wm. Wood. 'and David and take in a 'few of the Durham centennial festivities. The bride's 'mother chose a beige and fuschia 'floor-length gown of crimpilene knit , beige accessories and corsage of white carnations and, white mums. The•groom's mother wore a floor-length gown of deep rose crepe, .matching Shoes, White accessories a.nd oorsage_of white carnations and pink button mums. Following their wedding trip to the British Isles , the couple are . residing in Lucknow. 'The groom is on the- staff of-Ripley-District — ----- High school.. The bride was employed at Alexandra, Marine and General Hospital, Goderich. •
