At Brookside School on July 21st ,
110 farm union members,and
friends enjoyed a banquet in hon-
our of these young people. The
youth from the West answered the
many questions of the Eastern
farmers during a panel discussion.
Everyone_wasimpressed, with_the—
knowledge of these young people-. ,
The 17' exchange youth in Dist-
riot 5 and their host families met
at Point Farms on Sunday , July
23 for a picnic. While in Local
335 , the young people helped with
the farm, work where they. stayed.
They also saw Terry Dalton's
:hog enterprise, Alex Farrish's
dairy barn,.CKNX-TV and Radio
Station, enjoyed a barbecue at
Charlie Wilkins' farm with host
families, saw beef feedlots,
Douglas Point, saw a 'boatload of
Western grain being unloaded in
Goderich Harbour. They were
taken to. Niagara Falls by Lorne
Cook and Allan Gibson. All four

Lucknow Resident
Dies In 60th Yea!
' • MRS. ORLAND RICHARDS '
Relatives and friends were sad-
dened to learn of the death of
Mrs. Orland Richards of Lucknow
on Wednesday, July 19th in Wing-
ham and District Hospital.
Mrs. Richards , who Was in her
60th year ., was the former Clara
Isabelle MacDonald and was born
in Ashfield Township on August
24th, 1912, a daughter of Thorn-
as and Sarah MacDonald.
On October 3, 1936 she mar-
ried Orland A. Richards. They
farmed in the Paramount area
on Highway 86 until eight years
ago, when they sold their farm
and moved to Dicknow , where
they had bought the Lyon s home
on Ross Street.
Mrs. Richards was a. graduate
of Hamilton Normal School and
taught'at Kinlough from 1931
1936. She was- also active in
4-H work (, church and community
projects.
Surviving besides her husband
are two sons and a daughter ,•
George Of Sprta , New Jersey,
Mrs. Ray (Jean Anne) Murray of
Brampton and Dick of Ottawa;
five grandchildren; two sisters and
one brother , Mrs. Alex (Cather-
ine) Andrew'of Lucknow, Mrs.
Len (Marian)' Huston of R. R. 1
Kincardine and Finlay MacDon-
Families who hosted the .Our
farm union youths, who visited
Local 335 for 10 days were Kelso
Mc Nay, John Howard, Joe Court ,
ney John Austin, Allan Webster,
Charlie Wilkins, Lorne MacDon-
ald, Resis Miltenburg and. Ken Al-
ton.
The youths who visited were
Bruce---Wilson: from Whitelaw ,
Alberta ; farming 960 acres;, Rich-
ard ,Hayduk , Hines Creek, Alber-
ta , farming 800 acres; Kathy
Antonio, Benjanson, Alberta ,
farming 1120 acres; and Don Ouel-
ald of Ashfield. She was predec-
eased by.her parents. •
The funeral service was held, at
the MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow on. Saturday , July 22nd.
Rev. Robert Nicholls, minister of
Lucknow United Church of which
the deceased was a member, con-
ducted the service. An Eastern
Star 89 servie—e. was held at the
chapel the previous evening.
Interment was in Greenhill,
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
six nephews Robin Richards ,
Paul Richards , Bob Andrew ,
David Huston, George MacDon-
ald , Rod MacDougall.

Creamery Discontinues Egg Grading
Business, Main Street Depot Is Closed
• Teeswater Creamery Limited
closed out their egg grading and
'receiving depot on the main street
of Teeswater on Monday of this
week., ,
Because of the changes which
haye occurred 'in the egg business
in recent years, and the '
de-Cline inn-the eggs handled
through the local plant,: they
have decided to phase out this
part of the business. Egg pickup
in the Surrounding area will be
-discontinued., but cream pickup
will continue as before. The
downtown office has closed and
Mrs. Pauline Scharbach and Car,•
men Thompson moved to the
main plant..
In making the announcement ,
Don Thompson of TeesWater
Creamery stated that at one
time , 'a few years ago, they were
handling up to 1200 cases of eggs
a week,, while atpresent the
figure is close to 60 cases weekly,
•The egg grading station was
established on Teeswater's main
street about 1930.
Cream will 'now be received
at the main plant.

and Mrs. Morley Wall, of R. R. 1
Holyrood, and Betty 'Grubb of
R. R. 1 Mildmay,
Ontario Dairy Princess Nancy
'Brown of Grand .Valley was com- -
mentator for the competition.

Ripley District High School,

Canadian, Dairy Princess contest at the Canadian National Exhibi-
tion in Toronto this fall.

sub 'committees have been arrang-
