Sherwood Picnic
The eleventh anniial reunion of
the descendants of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. G. Sherwood .was
held on Sunday. afternoon, July 16
at Harbour Park, Goderich with
Mr,. and.Mrs. Wm. Stothers as
host and hostess.
An enjoyable afternoon was
spent in visiting and in games and
races which were in charge of the
Thornton family.
After a bountiful lunch, the •
president , Gordon Johnstone ,' prep.
ided over a short business meet-
ing.° The president was re-elect-
ed as was the secretary-treasurer,
Mrs. Dan McInnes. David and
Jimmy 'Finnigan are to be in
charge of the sports next year

The Hall family came to Owen
Sound three years ago from Luck-
now. Mr. Hall is on the staff at
the' OSCVI and comes from a
musical. background. He assists
with the band at Alexandra COM-
munity School and alit sings in '
the choir at Division Street United
Although proud of their son's
accomplishments theHalls are
extremely modest. In the words
of his mother, "Nobody knows the
hoursite-has-pur-nrpra-ctiang".

ANN CLARKSON •
Miss Ann Clarkson passed away
in-Kincardine-apd-District_Gener -
al Hospital on july 12th after a
short illness.
The late Miss Clarkson was
the daughter of the late Mr. and .
Mrs. Jas. 'Clarkson of Paramount
and Lucknow,. Ann was born in
England in 1888 and came to
Canada in her youth. She be-
came a schoolteacher and, taught
in Zion and Clover Valley before
going to Windsor where she taught
for many years before retiring.
Miss Clarkson was buried from
MacKenzie's Funeral Chapel,
Lucknow Oriluly 14 to Greenhill--
Cemetery. The pallbearers were
elso McNay, , •Wm. Porteous and
four phews, Jack and Roy Cook,
Harry Pratt and Jas. Blue,
She is survived by two sisters,
Miss Bertha Clarkson of Windsor ,
Mrs. Evelyn Pratt of Venice,
rlotida and nieces and nephews.

In-fact he is recognized at camp as
tops in both thesecategories. So
eager were tliey,to have him
return to camp this'year that they
offered him a complete scholar-
ship, $850 for the seven weeks.
His 'piano career dates back to
age six , .about the same time as
he started singing competitively.
