BARN FIRE

first floor of the building were'
saved and are all that
remain ofthis all electric 'broiler
barn. lost in the fire were poul-
try equipment, feeders, waterers,
heaters, fans. This barn, a
smaller one,handled about 7500
birds and was empty at the time.
Chickens were to arrive that
afternoon and the barn had been
prepared for, the arrival. Harry
Burgsma said he had been work-
ing in the barn that morning and
had left it about 9.15 a.m.

Vera MacDonald of St. Helens.
Mrs. Carl McClenaghan pres-
ided for the program., Readings
were given by Mrs. Sadie Barbour
and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan.
Mrs. Glen Porter 'addressed the
bride to be. Assisting Vera with
the gifts were her mother Mrs.
Angus MacDonald , sister Dale
and Mrs. Porter. , Among gifts re-
ceived from-Around-50 attendees-
were bowls, tea towels, blankets,
teapot, corningWire, casseroles ,
place mats, ironing

they say. Can you imagine what
knight we men are?
We started our tour at Montreal
and start home from Boston,
Maine; U,S.A. We got off the
Ferry here the night before last
and will get on the Ferry for Hali-
fax tomorrow night. We get off
the next day around nine. Here-
is hoping there is no wind. I am
not going into detail of our sights
in Quebec , New Brunswick, Nova
Scotia, Prince Edward Island
whith is beautiful. There is a lot
of rugged country in the rest. For
knyone who loves history , there is
plenty of it to,remind us of the
struggle between English and
French for possession of, our coun-
try .
The beds are very comfortable,
meals good. I must -congratulate
-Reid-our Bus 'driver-also
hishelper. They get the best for
us.
