Greetings At
Webster Picnic
DUNGANNON NEWS
To open the Webster picnic at
Luc know • Sunday .a fternoon , June
18 ; Presidentvey-Webster
gave a unique greeting. Because •
of the chatter among the 500 per-
sons present not all heard these
words: —
"Caed Mille Failthe" , "A' Thous-
and Welcomes% Websters!
As we celebrate this picnic full •
50 years 'are spanned! , -
I wonder what our forefathers ,
thought when theY left' their far
away land.
Some branches came from Scot-
land and some from'Holland too; t.
the tree from which we grew.
It metiers not the country; but..
h e le at t h he t e p op t y sent
Were good, God-fearing
people , hard working where'ere
they went.
They had to clear the forests, *
build shelters for their kin
And were the back-bone. of this
country that Huron and Bruce are
in.
There are fascinating stories told
of trips to grist mills -far
Of bags.of produce carried on
backs instead of car.
But many a tale is told as well
f merry times and fun
And so my friends let's toast the
past. = and God bless us everyone!
