Thursday evening the staff
'members of Lucknow Central
and Kinloss Central Schools took
Miss Webb to dinner at the
Manor Hotel, Wingham.' Besides
the staff members, Mrs. Wm.
Scott, music supervisor; Helen
TlibirlpSdii;- Mrs. Stuart Callyer--
and Mrs. Gordon -Cayley were
present.
Following the dinner Mrs. Lloyd
Hall read a poem to Miss Webb.
The poem was composed by Mrs.
Wm. COulbeck, librarian at the
school. Stuart Collyer made an
addresi and Mrs., Norman Taylor,
on behalf of those present, pres-
ented Miss Webb'with an engraved
watch. Miss Webb replied, ex-
pressing her ,thanks.
On Press Tour To
New Brunswick

On May 29th, 23 children And
10 chaperones from St. Joseph's
School, Kingsbridge , left on a
week long excursion tc).\ Victoria-
ville Quebec as part of an ex-
change visit with St. Gabriel La-
laelmont School there.
We left at 5.00 a.m. and got
to Victoriaville•at 8.00 p.m.
On the way down we stopped in to.
see Old Fort Henry. We were wel-
comed with a reception by the.
Knights of ColomArs at City
Thursday morning we went to
see the furniture factory where
they make bedroom and dining
room suites. It was fascinating
how this was done. Thursday
afternoon we went to a wood craft
factory where they learned how
to do everything with wood here.
Friday morning we went to a .
French English mass. •We left •
at 11.00 a.m. Everyone was
crying because we were going.
We arrived home at midnight.
The whole group enjoyed the
trip very much, and we hope our
friends will ef~ir ~ery._ss on „_

County Master, conducted the
meeting.. All were sorry to hear
of Bro.'Godffey's illness anti he is
in London Hospital. Many im-
portant things were. discussed.
Hall-where weinet our-friends.
We were then taken to the homes
where we met, the families.
On Tuesday we saw some very
interesting things. In the morn-
ing we went to see, anexperimen-
tal farm. In the afternoon;we me
iad -a choice- of -
different factories; The Rubin
Clothing Factory, Sunray Boat
Factory or Lactantin Creamery.
We all learned something from
whichever place we went.
Wednesday morning we sang,
danced, and had a French, Eng-
lish class. That' afternoon was
all free time.
Miss Ruby M. Webb was honour-
ed Thursday afternoon, June 8th,
when a tea was held to mark her
retirement from teaching. Miss
Webb is presently teaching Grade
5 at Lucknow Central Public
School where she has taught for
the,,past 24 yearsl_.
Miss Webb was raised fri---argeri--
ock Tbwnship, 3 miles north of
Glammis and 5 miles west of
Pinkerton, She graduated from
Normal School in Stratford in 1926
and since then has taught for 46
years in Bruce County in the fol-
lowing schools: Eden Grove in
S. S. 7 Brant Township; Gowa.n-
lock School in U.S.S. 7 Saugeen
and Arran; Upper South Line
School in S. S. 9 Kincardine;
S. S. 10 Bruce and Greenock;
S. S. 11 Kincardine; S. S. -9 Bruce;
S. S. 14 Bruce; Lucknow Public
School.
When Miss Webb came to Luck-
now John D. Ross, who now lives '
at Cay4a . was principal. Three
years later Stuart Plyer came to
Lucknow Public School as Princip-
al and Miss Webb has taught under
Mr. Collyer for the past 21 years.
Miss Webb's teaching in Lucknow
was done in the old school until '
it burned in January 1968.
Following her-retirernent-the-
end of June,- she will continue to
live in Lucknow.

to the province of New Brunswick

About 15 newsmen, representing
community, newspapers in various
parts of 'Ontario were guests of

Tourism in New BrUnswick and
members of his staff on a visit to
points of interest in southern New
Brunswick.
The group left Toronto by air
on Thursday morning, flying to •
the capital of New Brunswick,
Fredericton. From there, via ,
they visited St. Andrews 'by the
Sea; Campobello Island, the
summer -home of the Roosevelt
family and President Franklin •
Roosevelt; St. John, Fundy and
Mactaquac Parks and Moncton, to
mention a few of the many places
on the tour. They returned Sun-
day afternoon.

Some deep sea fishing, a visit
to the New Brunswick, legislature ,
which-wi sin-session
kinds of sea food and a visit to
dozens of points of interest were
on the agenda.
Arrangements in Ontario were
co-ordinated by the Toronto Pub-
lic Relations firm, Ontario Edit-
brial Bureau and -the group was
accompanied by John Fisher,
known to man as "Mr. Canada"
and a native himself of Frosty
Hollow , New Brunswick. ,
which also was a winner.
Parents of the successful young
athlete are well known in this
'area. His dad', Jim Blue , is a
Ripley native and his grandpar -
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald .
Blue of that village. David's
Mother is the former. Betty
Johnston-of-Luc know- a nd_kus_
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert'
Gammie of Lucknow.
