When Ontario entered Medi-
care on October 1, 1969, the Meth
ical Co-operatives voted to amal-
gamate into one large group to
be known as'Co-operative Health
Services of ,Ontario. Since the
new company required fewer
offices, Huron and' Bruce member-
ship listsg were combined., Huron
cords-wcf e7sent-tcr-the-Bruce
County' office in Paisley and the
ClintonOffice was closed on Dec-
ember 31, 1969.
All assets were, turned over to
the new company , but monies
not required under the terms of
amalgamation were to be, re-
turned , 'after .audit, to the,County
Trust Coinmittees set up in 1969.
This surplus has just 'been re-
ceived in Huron County and has
been divided by the Trust Com-
mittee between the five Hospitals
in 'the County, the three Assoc-
ratiori§-7-fdrlhe -Mentally
and the Huron CoUnty Unit of the
Canadian Cancer Society.
The hospitals each receive
$1000, th,e' Mentally Retarded
groups and the Cancer Society
each $500. Total amount return-
ed is $7000.
