the North Hastings District High
School Band, from Bancroft/I/put
on a program for LuCknow School
last Wednesday, afternoon.
Their seventy minutes of music
was very much enjoyed by both
HolyrOod and our own students.

Beef Cattle
Loan Program
The Government of Ontario
has introduced a program to en-
courage long term expansion in
the province's beef cow-calf herd.
Known as the •"Ontario Beef Heifer
Loan Program", it consists of a •
system of government guarantees
on bank loans to farmers for the .
purchase of bred or open beef heif
ers.
There has been increasing pres-
sure on Ontario beef producers in
recent years , as they'attempt to
find a suitable source of feeder
cattle and calves. Expansion of

$3,000 are eligible,topartieipate
in the program. The minimum

This week 'the 'Minister of Agri-
culture and.Food announced the
intention of the Government to
implement a programme ofluar-
anteed bank, loans to assist Indus-
trial Milk Produters irithe Prov-
ince to purchase market sharing,
quota to which is attached subsidy
eligibility quota from the Canad-
ian Dairy Commission.
The Minister indicated that the
Government was interested' in,
maintaining and expanding the in-
dustrial milk industry in Ontario
_ d_to_rnalte_surp_._th- nn
producer was deprived of market
sharing quota because of lack of
operating capital.
That being so, the Minister 'said
the programme will• consist of
chartered bank loans with the
Government of Ontario guarantee-,
ing' these loans. ,The loans will
be at prime interest rates plus 110
-repayabiet any times wiihout~
penalty.
In answer to a series of, questions
