Mr. and Mrs, ,August DuHarnel were •given permission to erect an Ice Cream Bar on Huron Road near Point Clark. The tender of Keith Carter was accepted for the water truck at his bid of $28.00. Council agreed to pay 10% of the costs towards a Medical Cent- re in the Village of Lucknow and appointee Councillor Don Mac - Tavish to represent Huron Town- ship on the Board. Ripley Women's Institute on Friday in the Legion Halt She spoke on the possibilit- ies for a graduate Home Ecorfornics 'student in the dietitian profession and also as a Home Ec- onomics teacher.. The theme for the meeting was Home Econ- omics and Health and Linda dealt with the training they, as students, receive in studying foods and their value to the human body. She studies chemistry of foods as well as psychology of foods. Her ad-, dress *as presented in a 'Very pleas• ing manner. Lois Rooney played two very fine piano solos which' were enjoyed. . A, course on "A Dollars Worth of Meat" Will be presented at Port Elgin fiall on May 17th which all members were invited. Mrs. Lock was chosen to rep- resent the Women's Institute as a voting delegate , with Mrs. John ed an,average of apprOximately 3 mills lower on' the overall rates, The Township general rate was lowered by 9.44 mills 'but the school rates were up X12. mills. ' Garbage collections will be for all year and at $8 per cottage. The Official Opening of the Township garage was set for May 12th with 'Murray Gaunt, M. L. A. as Guest speaker.
