Cracks Hip In
Fall From Horse
ZION NEWS
Kenneth Ritchie 'had the mis-
fortune to fall off a horse last
week and suffered a cracked hip-
bone.
He is in Wingham Hospital
.where he expects to be for two
weeks.
Ken's horse, a two-year-old
colt , was purchased from Roy .
Pennington. The horse had given
an unexpected lurch which caus-
ed Ken's turtiblc. His, friends
hope he will soon be up and
around soon.
Ken is the son of John Ritchie
of Ashrield.
his home and moved to Goderich.

Huron Board of Education are as
follows:

Goderich, a position opened by
the appointment .of Ralph Smith
as an area superintendent.

Word of the move came as a
surprise to Mr.. MacLennan arid
others in the county. Only, a few
weeks before, he purchased 'a •
new home in Goderich and he and
his wife Nancy, son Norman and.
daughter Mary Su plan to move.,
'to Goderich in a. few. weeks. He
was not aware of the transfer at
the time the home was purchased,
but will proceed with the plans
to reside in GoderiCh and will
commute to the school at Hullett.
. William .Black, a native of
AShfield Township and presently
a resident of Goderich, has been
•appointed to succeed Angus as
principal ofirdifikilde.
Bill is no stranger in this area.
He taught 6 years in Goderich and
later was principal at Kinloss
Central Public School for p,years.
He 'later acted as supervising prin-
cipal of Brussels, Belgrave and
Blyth schodls for 2 years before
being appointed principal of Col-
horneC.entral.S_chool 3
years agO when the county board
took over , a position he presently
holds.
For many years Bill lived on the
,4th of Ashfield , west of
.Dungannon, and just recently sold
Lucknow United. Church recent-
ly staged a family fun night at the
church and part of the evening saw
some major surgery performed by
a highly skilled team working on
