'• Ripley Senior,s,clashed with Chesley in theSacred Heart gymnasium, but the latter team, Who eventually took the champ- ionship, defeated' them. The girls are to be congratulated for their fine effort. • • EXAMS •- are only a week away? B.I.A. CURLING Due to the storm o•f February 4, the B.I.A. curling Bonspiel Waslield_Eriday, , February 18. The 9 o'clOck draw was filled with boys' teams who tried' for the,Boys' BIA Curling Champion- ship. :The winner was the Wiar- ion team. At 11 o'clock the rnix- ed teams from all over Bruce Wiarton won the BIA Mixed title they had to defeat the Kincardine' squad. They, did this only after tieing the game and throwing off. The final results were; First, ' Wiarton 34 1/2; 2nd, Ripley "B" 32; 3rd Kincardine 30; 4th Saugeen 20; 5th, Chesley 18 3/4; 6th „Ripley "A".12 1/2. We wish to congratulate the Ripley "B" team -for their-Tine showing. The "B" team consisted of Terry /Elliott, Gayle Hiiston,, Murray Hill and Joan 'Ferguson. The Ripley "A" team was skipped by Donald Martin with Marg Mac- Kay vice , Blain Cartutbers, second and Mary MacCharles lead. The Ripley boys placed fourth in the BoysB.I.A. HS„ CURLING Ellen Elliott's team of Margie MacTavish, 'Larry Irwin, and Shirley Mackay won alarm 'clocks for winning the most games this draw. A card party was held in the Purple Grove Community. Centre on Friday evening. Although there were not many in attend- ance it was a fun evening topped off by a new type of dance that required the participation of all present. Mrs. Irene Boyle was" . responsible for this part of the .evening with Mrs. Gladys Robert- son and Mr.s. Maureen Collins conveners for the cards, Marion Emerson and Vic GaWley walked Off with the high prizes of the evening.
