week at the emergency ward of
Wingham
Maurice Stainton, Wingham,
was driving a snowmobile behind
the ."FrostyQueen" on February 8
and struck a car belonging to
• Murray,TaylOr. He received con-
tusions and abrasiOns to the. left
leg, mild concussion and was
treated and released. The accid-
ent was investigated by Wingham

bile February 11 which apparently
tipped anci landed on his left
foot and ankle. The accident
oceuired on the 4th concession
of Turnberry and he received a
fractured left foot. Mr..,

bile into a barbed wire fence Feb-

multiple lacerations to the face
requiring approximately 100 sut-
ures to close.. He was admitted
to hospital and his, condition is
satisfactory. Wingham 0..P. P.

A very successful Bruce County
Public Speaking- final contest was
held atthe Paisley CentralSchool
on Friday night, February. 10. The
contest had been. postponed from
the previous Saturcla.y because of
a storm:
The chairman of the' contest
was Robert Emerson; Deputy
Reeve of the Township of Huron;
the time-keepers were Mrs. Vida
Wilfotd, Deputy Reeve of Port
Elgin and Archie McKinnon,:•
Reeve of Cultoss. The judges'
were: Elmer Thompson, Kincar-
-dine; Elmer' Black; Walkerton;
John Mason, Port Elgin; with Paul
Rux of Wiarton asking questions
following the speeches. This
question period is an innovation
acided'to •the contest this year by .
the Ontario Public School Trust-
ees' AssOeiation and Ontario
Hydro who are the provincial
sponsors of the contest.
The Bruce County- Council
sponsors the county final and
