The death of Harvey Treleaven
a former Luckno.w and. Dungannon
resident, occurred at Parkwood
Hospital, London on Tuesday,'
January 11th following 'a lengthy
illness.
-Harvey , who was ,in:his•8/st
year, was a son of Samuel Tre17.
eaven and' Elizabeth Sheppard and
was born in Ashfield Township on
June, 14 , 1891, where he spent his
early life and .was in:business7in•
Dungannon for a time.
Two years after his marriage to
EliZabeth (Lyla) Higgins, 'daugh7
ter .of ,Robert and. Robin -Higgins •
of Ashfield., they moved to Luck
now where he was 'employed with
Silvetwood Dairies for fifteen
years;
Harvey then-again went into
business for himself. • He. and.
Wes Huston bought the ladies.and
men's clothing store Of Ben'Pearl
.man,, forming a partnership under
the business, name-: of '"The--',Qual
ity Shop". They later sold to
Charles Webster.
Mr. and Mrs. Treleaven spent
a short time in Kincardine and
Dungannon returning to Lticknow
when they purchased the restaur-
ant business from Harvey Hall,
In 1953 they sold_to Jim Duncan
and moved to LOndon, where

;Harvey owned and operated a'
pool-room business in London
until ten, years ago, when Poor •
health :forced him to retire.
Mr. Treleaven was an active
church worker during his 'lifetime
in Dungannon and. Lucknow where
he was Superintendent of the Sun
day School, a Sunday School
teacher , a nierhber of the ChUrch•
choir and a Meniber Of the Luck=
now United Church Orchestra.
' 'Besides his wife Lyla .he is
survived by a 'daughter and two
sons, Allan ,4/. Treleaven of
Toronto, Mrs. Harvey (Jean).
Treleaven of London;..seven
grandchildren 'and one sister Mrs.
Jack (Edith) Andrew of Edmonton.
He was predeceased by his first,
wife, the' forMer Margaret Farrow.
an infant son Niurray and one
brother Cecil Treleaven. -
• The funeral service was held :
Lucknow' on Friday January 14th.
