,..Please . ;take.. a -.moment=and.--consider=-a ery
v -serious -question.
How • many .times; in the past year, have you spent the day, actually
•
viaiting with.your family,or kinfolk'? 'An hQnestansyet wouid,,,prob-
s
y ably be seldom. Whether we admit itthis or not, t, t s deterioration: offamily
life may do us more harm than good.,
There's always .talk about a generation gap. What: itreally boils
down to is. that parents and their offspring usually are just not com
.municating. Where does love come in. 'when these two forces ar0 con-
stantly repelling each, other' Where,. there is no love, there is no listen=
' ing. •Wheretheir is no listening, therecan beno understanding: Thus.
nothing can . be . accomplished and the family is headed towards dis
' aster. Without love, home is only' a buildingwhere relatives eat and
sleep..
•
•
'Then, there is the situationwhere the parents are too busy to
give much, attention.to the children. When b:ith parents work, the child
is usually dumped off at a nursery or at th. babysitter's house. Even.
at the end of the day, the parentsmay be too tired or. • too busy with
extra curricular activities, to• spend, any amount of tune with :the; child,.
How can the child : expect ' to learn the meaning of love? Since this
situation is becom :.more common
worldwill it be where most 'people don't know what it's like to love : and
trust one and other? •
Another break'down.m family life occurs when, an unwed mother
• takes the sole responsibility of her . child. The ;child will become ac-
customed mainly to. the love of his mother, if she gives him, love : There
will -be no example set to show lum: how a man and a woman can love
and -respect--each-other .in the bonds of, marriage. Alai; the ideal
family of a happily married 'couple and, :their children, is. gradually.
