Jerry Irvin of Ashfield TOwnship.
whodied as the result of:a motor
accident about 10-.8.0 p.m; Friday
evening: '
The accident occurred on the
4th Concession of Ashfield; about

mile west of Dungannon. Jerry
was at the .DungannOn Agricultur-

of Culross Township miraculously ,
escaped injury, ori Monday Morning
of last week as lightning struck
during one of,the frequent electri-
cal .storrns 'experienced in this. •
area recently.
Mr, and Mrs. RUSsell, Stewart
and their three children have just•
returned-froinfoiir years in, Germ-
any where Russell was with the
Canadian Forces. 'He has been
postedback to Trenton and ,lwith
his familywas spending a' vaca-
tion at the horne.of his parents Mr;

Spent the night in their camper
trailer parked in the yard while
the other member of the, family,
Joanne ,..age 9 ,. had slept in her
.grandparents' house.
About 8 a.m. a lightning bolt
stripped the side off a tree and the
bark off another tree just near the
camper. Electrical power had
been secured frorn,a drive shed •
nearby and the cord, leading into
the camper, was melted as was a
reading lamp at tile head of the
bed n the camp r. piece o
the trailer was also damaged by
the lightning.
The four .rnembers of the Stew-
art family in the camper were not
injured.
In the Stewart farm house,
damage was also apparent. The
door was blown off the fuse box'
and fuses were blown. A light
was burned out in the house and
the yard light shattered. A lawn.
