ELM TREES
We have just received a ruling.
on the minimum . size of tree that
will qualify_for,..the dead_e1m.giant
of $5.00 per tree. The minimum
size to qualify is 6 • inches,- two
feet from the ground. .
Many of these trees are badly
decayed. and, branches drop with
any movement. Therefore, it is.
safer to use a rope and slight pull:
.with, a tractor to start, trees, fal-
ling, rather than trying to wedge
' them off the 'stump, ..
CAPITAL • GRANTS ..
Under the new capital grant
policy, a double grant ($6,000.00)
will, be •paid. to : partnershipsor
corporations that ' are actively
farming. •
This has 'brought ndnlerous
questions as to whatconstitutes.
A partnership. The' basic inten-
tion is that where two families
have entered into a written agree-
ment for the operation of : a farm,
they would qualify for the double
grant. It is not intended , that 'a
husband and •wife wouldqualify
as a partnership for capital,
grants '
