Ken Cameron stated that he

trucks. and busses 'who are abusing
parking regulations, and said he
felt it : was time council took
some action in enforcing.,existing
bylaws. Alex Havens is the Luck-
now bylaw officer.
Omar Brooks questioned coun-
cil as to why no financial, state -
tnents had been printed for the
nomination meeting, Reeve.
Joynt said that they were. "just
,not ready" .' He spoke of the .
village auditing firm .of A ,M. '
Harper and Company and stated„
that they had taken; on so,much
work that they are not providing
a'satisfactory service for the vil-
lage in that they", are.so late with
their' audit, • ' •
Reeve Joynt stated that there
would be a saving of 12 mills in
1971 in regard 'to:money spent .in;
the:arena project.: ,Omar Brooks
said that council had picked up'
$1500 'froth the sale of 'the Luck-'
now Public School, Property
to which Mr. Joynt replied , "Yes,
that was in 1969".

cern about the council meeting

meeting, council discussed sev-
eral old accounts owing by the
Lucknow Recreation Committee.
Mr. Cameron said he felt ' it'was

were turned in before we closed

matter was not intended to reflect
on anyone and that' council had
also been of the opinion that all

Bill Hunter , chairman of the
new Recreational Committee,
said that the earlier accountswere
closed off in January of 1970 and
that the new committee had just
'been formed' leaving a gap of a
few months where expenditures „
occurred.. He said that upon tak-
ing.over.the job, he had been
made aware of bilis' that had:
come. up through the summer
months and. also of accounts
which went ,back two years.",In an
atremp to ;stair off -With a "clean
sheet" these accounts had been
presented to council for their
discussion.
Jack McKim complimented
Bill Hunter on the efficient man-
ner in which he was organizing
the Recreation Committee. "I
sat on the Recreation Committee
a number of -years ago and; it 'was
probablythe most useless com-
mittee which ever sat in town" ,
was the comment of ;Mr. McKim.
Angus MacLennan said, that
he was not familiar with the in-
forhation pertaining 'to' the water
well which had been drilledand
he asked that, it be explained.,
Reeve Jolnt said: that it had been
drilled in 1967•at a cost of $5000
at a point south of the Lucknow
Public School but that` the estim-
ated

ated: cost for: developing it was
$19,000' and that council had dec-
ided to. postpone this for the
present..
