The September meeting of
Unit 5 of the Lucknow United, •
:Church Women was held atthe,
home of .Mrs George Jardine;
Mrs. Clarence Bell opened the
meeting with • a reading. She
then -turned :the= -meeting -over to--
Mrs: Bob Irwin who was program
convener and •used as her theme
"retarded children'. The Hymn,;
When Mothers of Salem was •
sung. Mrs. Murray Henderson
then read the Scripture after
which M. Morningstar led in
prayer.
Mrs. Irwin then told astory .en-,
titled "Nickie Opened My Heart
The story -was about a Mongoloid
child and how she opened the
hearts of her. family. After this
heart warming story Mrs. 'Irwin
;introducedher guest speaker:'Mrs
Herb Emmerton from Kincardine;
Mrs. Emmerton teaches retarded
children and spoke very informal-
ly about:these children and the
progress they•make. She explain-
ed that love was one of the most
important parts of their lives. As
long. as you .loved them, they were
happy. She was very interesting.
At the end of her talk she "read.
a verse "-ForgetTMeNot". Some
of the ladies asked questions and
a short discussion' followed. Mrs.'

sung by all the ladies'. .The Meet-
ing was then turned over,to Mrs.

her 'summer holiday.
