Mrs. Thompson; who was affec- tionately' known'as• Belle to her rtiany friends, had been ill only .a week and her death was unexpect- ed.. On• Thursday , July 30th, '• members sof her family had staged. "Open House" for her to mark her 88th birthday . The even^t'was held a few days early because all r�iem , ,were a.bir to.be present on that day. •' Mrs. 'Thompson was born on August. 11., 1882; in. Lucknow and for four ' a except year's spent as a• child in Crystal City, Manitoba she lived all her life . in the vm1- )age: Her birthplace was where Bruce MacKenzie now resides and institute.., .She_was,acharier mem• bet of the total - Rebekah, Lodge going through the chairs and se.rv- ing a term as Noble Grand. She. was predeceased by. her husband' Robert H. Miss Helen Thompson.; who made her hoine in Lucknow With her mother; Mrs.' William (Frances) H'ewat of`Elmira; sons Robert of Windsor an'd,Harold D. (Bud) of Lucknow. -She. is also survived '` by a 'sister Miss: Lorna Campbell of Lucknow , twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.' She was a life r lern- ber and the last surviving charter member of the Lucknow Women's Burial was in the family plot .n Greenhill Cemetery. ..
