May .8th, is the 25th anniversary of VE Day, Vic-- tory in Europe for the allied . forces during the Second World War. VE Day to some Canadians under thirty years ' of age means.. nothing except a page in a history book. To others, who were fortunate enough to spend the past twenty-five years with a father, husband, son or brother : who hadserved In the Canadian Forces, it should mean much. ' • To those who have lost 'a loved one in the Second World War, it e when the sadness is relived\once a : ain. Dutch Canadian citizens, who now call 'Canada .their home, have° joined together on a nation-wide basis to present a united. "Thank .You Canada", to citizens of this country which is now their country. The store is. at. Point Clark, just south of where Pine River empties into the lake. . The three Johnstone brothers • have possession now and will .be open, weekends' until after May. 17th when they will be.open on a continuous basis throughout the summer. Mr. and Mrs. MacKenzie have operated the store for eleven :years They purchased the prop' erty from Mr. and Mrs. John Coates and went to Point, Clark in the sptsing•of 1959., They had previously operated the•'Kings- bridge -General Store for ten years until it was sold tothe highway and rerrioved. Prior to that :The MacKenzies spent ten years in the store ljusiness at' Bervie..
