A REAL EDUCATION!
This week's trip to New York City by members:: of the World
Politics class at the F. E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham should
be a .pretty special event in the life of these young people..
Not only will theyhave the chance to witness the United Nations
in . operation, but they will have. the morning to tour one of the greatest
cities in the world which is an education in itself:
A picture is often referred : to as being worth a thousand words,
but an on -hand look at New York and its many wonders will be worth
many thousand ,words of classroomtime, with much greater effect..
Lloyd Ackert of -Holyrood; who teaches World Politics at the
• F. E Madill Secondary School, has arranged this one day charter 'air
trip and: is to be , complimented for this unique idea in education.

A PLEA
I' am a little child. I am two years old. So far my .life .has not

Daddy does not have a job and there sn't enough money to go around:
My Mommy's i erves arebad and she sometimes hits me .hard. I • haver
.: bruises on my:,body whereshe hit the, yesterday. This .hurtslme and I
"cry ''very :hard. Sometimes I get hit for crying. I love her and I cannot
understand .Why. she ' hits .me. I really think she : loves. me. • Several
people know what's going on. Some of my "friends" know. Some of
my relatives mow.
The other day 'my neighbour 'saw her bit me. Oh how I wish be,
would have helped me! Instead he just went in the house. If he would
only tell someone who would help my Mommy'to be more understand-
ing. I want my. Mommy to love me.
Why didn't he help? I '
p . , guess he doesn t ; understand. He wants to
,las-,sown baseness -.:and. -not' become. involved! Ile doesn't know that
44 if he reports on 'Mommy that it will be kept confidential: He doesn't '
know that if he ' reports it that someone . come an to p°
'Mummy and work''with her so that' I • can keep on living here . without
beteg beaten and abused. He doesn't know'the guilt he will :feel if soirie-

I can't tell:. Even' if I . could talk I couldn't tell. Surely my • sad

do I have to jive or die.like this?:
