At the February'meeting of
Lucknow Village Council, a
.communication was read from
Bruce County. Boatrd ,of *Education
advising of the method whereby
Lucknow. , and other
municipalities, .would.pay
_their school taxes on a twice a
year basis. - •
The Ontario Government , in
recent legislation , provided'
regulations whereb y the school
boards would collect education
taxes'from the municipality,
the collecting body, four times
yearly, However, the govern-
ment, did not' indicate. tax -
collection dates and : this is whit
•the local municipal "governments
presently have iri their laps •
to decide, .
As an alternative to the four,
tax collecting dates, March,
June, Sept. and December the
Bruce board. has proposeda
twice a year transfer on. May 15
and Novembet 7.,

-was keen to` have one, particular

meeting of village council.
Seems the Ontario Fire Marsh-

inspection of the village• last year ,
turned -up the fact that a by-law.,
appointing `George Whitby as Fire
Chief, had never ' been passed
and 'if sp.,-, wasn't on •file.
It• was,16 years Ago thismonth•
