Ashfield Town- ship about 8:30 p.m•,(Sunday even- ing.. ven-ing, Lost, besides the barn itself, were about 70 pigs which included 27 sows and .2 boars, their entire. breeding stock. Also lost in the fire were a new plow,a new auger, about 2000 bushels of grain, 400 bales of straw .and: some baled hay. Mrs.. ,Blaise Martin:, Jim's mother, resides in the house on the farm where the barn wastiurned. Mr. . and Mrs. Jim Martin reside on the adjacent .farmwhich is about one mile north of Port . The fire originated in the upper portion and by the time Jim arrived at the barn it was well beyond, saving. The barn was beyond saving when firemen arrived The fire did not seriously threaten the house as the wind was in the : right direction.
