Despite the quiet -meeting, Ashfield now has a new Reeve, ,a new Deputy -Reeve and one new , councillor. • , . The entire council and school board members were elected by acclamation for a two year term., After fourteen years'of service to the township, 8 years on council and 6 ,years as Reeve, -Donald Mac Kenzie retired from office with , his term expiring the end of this year. Donald's long service as councillor and Reeve fittingly 'came to a climax this year when , • he was elected to the offite of Centennial year, Warden , • ild11.1f011 COLUIty. Fell* • councillors. Municipal officials'. and ratepayers all expressed their • regret in losing Donald 'from•the township board and paid tribute to • his years of service.
