R.R. 6 Lucknow madthe route was
taken over by Clarence Ritchie of
the 2nd of Kinloss:
Herb's service goes back many,,,,
Many years. His father, the late ..
Richard McQuillan, was the first •
driver on R.R. ? Lucknow and as a
young' man;wHerb asisied on this
route and later drove it.

from the 'McQnillia family. ,
When Wilson. Hamilton gave ..up
R. R 5 Lucknow . Herb took it .over
and operated this route ;until going
overseas., Following the war,
in 1950,.be took over No. `6 route

continued to operate this route, Un --
til officiallyretiring a few weeks
ago.
Throughout the years, Herb has.
been faithfully: assisted on'the' mail
by Mrs. McQuillin and we know
that mail driving will now '.be the
farthest g

they enjoy • their regular winter "..
vacation in Lakeland. Florida . , Mr
and Mrs...McQu illin will; leave for
the south on Friday of this week.

"Ted" Collyer has been appointed.

accountant at the bank's Chatham
office,
Mr. Collyer •graduated from Luck -
now High School and joined the B
of M here in ;1959.. He served at: •
Norwich and• at two,: branches in
Toronto before being appointed
asslstant accountant at a Kitchener
branch' in 1964. He went to
Chatham in 1966.
Ted is 27 years old arid' the son•of
Mr:and Mrs. Stuart Collyer of ••
Lucknow.. He is married to the for-
mer Sandra. Edgar of Gorrie. Ted
assumed his new duties last week.

will retire from municipal service
the end of this year. Reeve Joynt
made this announcement, a sur-
prising one to many. at the nom-
ination meeting on Monday night
in the town hall.

Filling the Reeveship by acclam-
ation will be Omar Brooks. Omar
has been closely associated witji
the steady progress in the village
and as a councillorfor eight years, -
can also take credit for :Lucknow's
progressive steps..

al.. Mrs. Campbell .was confined to
hospital for a few days .
Mr. Campbell it a son of the late
James Campbell and Sarah Ann
Wilson and was born at Belfast' on
the farm in Ashfield which, until
recently;. was owned by Dynes •
Campbell. The family moved to
Thessalon about 75 years -•ago,:
before the advent Of the railroad.
There Mr 'Campbell was raised and
spen`r. much of his life: His .is the
eldest and ttie ,last survivor of the
Campbell family of four,
Mrs. Campbell is the former
Gertrude, Garniss, daughter of the
late John Garniss. and Annie .Coultes
Garniss of Bluevale, where she was
born. The .Garniss family moved
to Thessalon district a year after
the Campbells. and it was there that
Ira,Campb'ell and Gertrude Garniss
were married on December 1, 1897

'Witt church.. Mrs: Campbell is the
last member of a ',family of six':
Mr.. Campbell was woods Manager
for the Spruce Path Power and
Paper Company at Kapuskasing
when he retired several years .ago
and returned to:his home in Luck -
now where Mrs.. Campbell had been
residing:. Before long, he was
called back into service in, an ad-
visory capacity at sthe Long Lac
development of the'Kimberly'Clark.

Fifteen years ago, Mr. ; Campbell
bought a farm near.Purves Lake,.,

just changed to a two year term

serve in office for 1968 and 1969.
Battling for the Reeveship will be
