Murray Hoover was . in 'charge of the 'meeting with Jamison Itibey reading, the minutes of the last meeting. The.treasurers ,report was read" by.Murray Hoover -- as Don Pullen was' unable to attend. ,It,was reported that the Juniors are holding a banquet in Belgrave in. Noveinber and anyone wanting tickets must get them by November 14. There, is also a ticket .draw to support World Literacy Fund of Canada 'to• be made at the ban (Duet, The Huron. Juniors.got their.. first letter from the child they •adopted . The child is male., 13 years'old and lives in India . He will'be supported by the Juniors for one year: • It was decided /to have another competition the last Saturday in January againthis year. Also' that , the county have, another hockey competition this year, • The next county meeting to be: on November 29, 196'7. in this years convention was the evident lick of resolutions in favour of committee reports and recommendations. This made for: a • much:more' efficient meeting : delegates reported : Main' theme, of the convention was on land use which will be one of the main programs to be conducted by OFA this coming year. Out of the reports: a lively dis- cussion 'took place at the Bruce County Federation Directors Meet- ing on, land use: which bore out the importance of this timely topic .'.It was the unanimous feeling of the directorsthat the Federation must take' a very firm stand and :be pre pared to give leadership on proper landuse planning.. The directors felt that while Bruce County hasn't been 'adversely affected by urban and industrial development yet,.. the time• to take action is nowt The Bruce County Federation of Agriculture- Annial•Meeting will be held in Elmwood on. Thursday, November 30th commencing at noon hour with a beef banquet. Guest Speaker will be Prof. Norman Pearson, Planning 'Consult'' ant from the University of Guelph.
