ada are blind to -day? Did you knok:,
that 6.. people go blind in Canada
every. day? These are just a few of
the facts we, the students;learned '
frOrn Mr. Shepherd of the CNIB. ,
'Mr. 'Shepherd has had, acernea. •
• :trartsplaht in both of his, eyes after
being blind for 20 years. This is
both a fascinating and -rewarding
operation and the students learned
a great deal from his talk..
Last year the students canvassed for
the CNIB, Canadian National, in,
stithtion of the Blind and the res-
ponse was appreciative. .The grade.
nines ABC and D are responsible

I wonder what a teacher of
50 years ago would think if he
walked into a classreorn today?
Personally, I think he'd be tot-
ed off in a state of deep shock.
• Some aspects of the atmos-
phere would be familiar: the
box -like, claustrophobic
-
struction, •the smell of cha -
• dust and bodies; the windows
that stick and. won't o en• the

• And the place would be full

aggressiveness, in a generation

tainly wouldn't look the same.
