The first meeting of Lucknow
# 2, 4-H Club was held on Thurs-
day, September 7. 1967 in the.
Lucknow District High: School at
7,p.m. The: meeting•opened with
the 4-1-1 Pledge, followed bythe
electionof officers as follows;

The covers of the record books
were. selected.' The judging qual-
ifications for the •Teeswater Fall
Fair were read. In discussion, the
subjects of meetings, sewing.
boxes and the wollen'garments
were discussed.' .The. notes for the
meeting were copied. The Nation.
al 4-H creed ended the meeting.. •

Purple, Grove 4-PesH Club girls
held their first 'meeting of the new
club'" Working With. Wool" in the
Community 'Centre on Monday, ;
September 4th at 7:30 p.m.There
were 13 girls present. ' •
The•leaders Mrs. Jack :Farrell and
Mrs.,'. Earh Elliott 'distributed the
books..
Elected officers were; President
Joan Thompson; Vice President,
Sherry Pollock;. Secretary, Sandra
Collins; Press Reporte`, Valerie,
Gillies. •
They discussed their book covers
and .the girls decided to hold their
meetings on Tuesdays at 7;00 p.m.
in the Purple Grove. Community
Centre.
For discussion they took up Wool,
The Fibre ;and Fabric" . Mrs.
Elliott and Bonnie Boyle demon-
strated taking measurements.
Barbara Ritchie Hetes Kairshea 1
The first meeting of the Kairshea
group Number 1 was held at the
home of. Mrs Clarence Ritchie on
Tuesday evening'. There were
seven members present and the two
leaders; . Mrs.' Evan Keith and Mrs.
Clarence Ritchie,.:..
Officers were elected as follows:
President Barbara Ritchie, Vice
President DianneAskes., Press Re-
porter Carolyn MacGillivray. The
,:group decided to take turns -read=
;ing'their notes " This wouldtake
the place .of'a secretary..
The. 'coders spoke' about'. the diff-
erent wools and fibres and gave . •
notes to 'the`•girls. They demon-
strated how' to determine the true
fabric of wools ora blend with
wool., Tests were taken which '•
proved 'very interesting;

at Mrs. Keith's on September lith.

4-H• pledge. and Mrs Ritchie served
refreshments. '

The first meeting of the Colwan-
ash Learning Lassies was held on
Saturday,, September 9th at 1:30 at
the horse of Mrs. Carl Riegling.

The second meeting of the Zippy
Zionettes:was opened with the 4-H
pledge., The roll• call'.was answered.

The lesson was on. the "grain of
the fabric' The lengthwise and
crosswise grain was discussed and
the, method of cutting -out the skirt.
