Dear Sit';
I was shocked and amazed to
read, in Hansard of, Tuesday, July .:
4th, that the present member of
Parliament for Bruce brought polit-
ics into the grants to. the T
•Kinnardine and: Wiartob }iosptals
When 1 received the public infor-
. oration regarding the grants to the.
hospitals,. I contacted*everal of
'these concerned to s my
delight.: Although they had not yet
received ;the annowno ent'(un-
doubtedly due to'a delay in the
malt or' a mistake in in sync uoniz-
ation) they expressed their pleasure
on receiving $169,149,04 in .grants.
.It, is inconceivable to int why Mr.
Laney'is 'so. upset . All the officials
concerned and the people' of Bruce'
are thanlfiil to. the .Federal 'Govern-
inent for., these grants and are• not•
interested in Mr- Coneys politicing
I.have heard from a reliable
source that it was, the policy of the
Conservative: Government in. •
Ottawa (195.7 ' 62) to' announce
such.grants. 4 or 5 days'after the
.local Conservative M.P, was in-
formed'. I also understand' that
..it was Conservative Governments
policy, never to give such; inform
at ion to opposition . •. N w

'I
read in Hansard that Mr.- Loney
even wrote to thank the Minister. of
Health and Welfare for giving hint :
the information.
