interfaith service of thanksgiving.
and. dedication} held' at the Ripley
District High School on Sunday',.
Morning..
The service had originally inten-
ded: to be the climax of a'three
daycentenni
ah observance in Rip-
ley and, Huron; but with the
double drowning which' struck fam-
ilies of the district, . all celebrat- ,
ions were postponed' and the
church service.was the only event
which was proceeded with. •
Guest minister at the service was •
Rev Alex McCombie of
Sherbrooke, Quebec`. Special mus-
ic was,provided' by a community
choir: One of the three hymns
chosen for the service was the
Centennial Hymn. A special act ...
of thanksgiving was conducted by
the Canadian Girls in Training. of :
Pine:River and Bethel United Chur•
ches.

SPEED LIMITS IN CONSTRUCTION. ZONES .
New legislation now -authorizes special speed zoning
for marked construction sites. Motorists are required to,

MOTORCYCLES REQUIRE TWO' BRAKING SYSTEMS
Every'motorcycle when being operated on a highway
shall be •equipped with at least two brakingsystems

effective 'on' the front wheel and one, effective on ,the

AIRCRAFT ON HIGHWAYS.:
When'an, aircraft makes an emergency landing on a -
highway, the pilot must have it rerno.Ved within,a rea
sortable time.
When an aircraft is being driven or drawn along a•high-
way, its•movement.must comply with the provisions of. '
the Highway Traffic Act. EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1967.

haust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by=pass or

The search for Jane Pollock's ,
body continues. Jane was a popular
grade 9 student at Ripley High
School: she was injured in a car•
accident' several' weeks ago and .haid.
been hospitalized at that time.
She returned to school in time for
some of the final examinations and'
had made the trip to EXPO: with
students of Ripley High .just a few
days prior to the drowning. The
entire Ripley Huron community
was numbed with sadness in learn-
ing of the drownings at Emmerton
Beach, Tragedy. has become a
common word in this comm unity
recent; months.
