Oliver Cromwell Barkwell of
Lucknow," passed away at
Wingham .Hospital, on Wednesday
June 28th, in his '75th year.
• He was born in Ashfield Town-
ship on: January'25th;0893, a son
•of•James Barkwell and Alice
Andrew.
Mr.' Barkwell farmed in. Ashfield
until coming to L.ucknow in the •'
fall of 1965 ,.when he purchased 'a
horse on Havelock Street.
He .is survived •by'tufo sisters,
'Mrs. Daisy MacCharles of Ash-
field Township and Mrs Mary
Whitney of Tampa Florida.
Mr..; Barkwell was predeceased
bythree brothers, 'Flex/Ilan,
Gilbert , 'H'enders, a Sister . Mrs.
George (Ruth) Brooks and an in-
fant sister Jessie. •
He was a member of Olivet Unit-
ed Church. -Funeral service was,
held on: Saturday,; , July •lst , from
MacKenzie. Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow Rev Laird Stirling was.

Pallbearers were Oliver Mac -
Charles:, ;Omar Brooks, Andrew
Barkwell, John Barkwell, Lloyd

One -of the most highly' respected
and ind'tistrious older residents,
Mrs. Annie J. Tiffin of Wingham,
passed away on Friday, . June 16th
She was the eldest daughter of the
late William Sherriff and "Rebecca
Farrier of West Wawanosh.
Mrs. Tiffin spent; most, of her'
early life in St. Helen's going to
Wingham in 1906 . She, was in the ,
Presbyterian. choirs until her marr-
iage in
arr iage'.in 1909 to George Tiffin of
Langside
Two years after 'her husband's
accidental death in 1917; shevent'
back to . Wingham.:where'she was
born, and resided there ever since.
She was. an -activetnemberin the
missionary Society of the United
Church:
Mrs'. Tiffin is survived by two.
sons G. V. Wilberforce and: Wm.
ph'•of Wingharr•; two daughters,
Mrs Harry (Olive) Boyd, Windsor
and. rs.."Wallace (Vivian), Wilson,
Aubur also one sister J Robena ,
Sherif Ingham. •
