of, that village from Neil McLenn-
an, This business announcement
was made last'week and becomes

The sale of the 'McLennan Funer-..
al Home ends a long career in
business. in RipleY for. Neil. He. is
a Ripley area native , and. except..
for a period in the army during
'World war one and two years' in
Vancouver , he resided in' the com-
munity 'all his life. For many years.
he,was. a .barber until, purchasing
,the furniture and funeral business.

Bill has been a Ripley resident for

working ' for Neil. That was in 1946
and in 1949 he was granted his
embalmer's licence after apprenti.

entered into a partnership 'in the
furniture end of the business and
six or seven years ago Bill purchas-
ed control of°this business complet-'

Home., Mr. McCreath also acquir-

Mr. McLennan has purchased the

Besides his .duties with the furni-
ture and funeral. business, Mr.
McCreath was recently' named
Ripley Village Clerk succeeding
Walter, Needham.

Mr. Drennan is the only son •of •
the late Mr , and, Mrs, James
Drennan arid :Mrs?. Drennan is a
daughter of the late Mr, :and' Mrs.
Joseph Hackett. They were marr-
ied by Rev. Dewitt Cousins of the'
Ashfield Circuit on March 15th,
1922.
They farmed ori" the 6th concess-
ion of Ashfield until mbvng to
Lucknow' 25'years 'ago.
