Dr: MacGregor was born in Cape. Breton, :Nova Scotia', moved to Chicago -in ;1906' and lived.. at 4423 W. Irving Park since 1907 A vegetarian.. since he was 20, Dr. MacGregor: ate only fruit and nuts and had not drunk 'water in,. more than 40 years.. Illness was .. practically unknown to him. "I don't care for water," he said; "It has no food value and, ':besides, I never get thirsty." He was•a past president of the' Chicago Vegetarian Society and wasp.a delegate to a vegetarian congress in India when he was 80.
