W. `MacGregor,. 91, a prominent
osteopathic physician in Chicago:
and well known in this community,
were held at Shelton 'Funeral Home.
in Chicago on Friday, March 3rd
He held,degrees.of doctor of med-'
icine and doctor of osteopathy and
was noted : as an instructor and'.
health lecturer for40 years at the
Osteopathic Hospital in Chicago.
Dr: MacGregor was born in Cape.
Breton, :Nova Scotia', moved to
Chicago -in ;1906' and lived.. at
4423 W. Irving Park since 1907
A vegetarian.. since he was 20,
Dr. MacGregor: ate only fruit and
nuts and had not drunk 'water in,.
more than 40 years.. Illness was ..
practically unknown to him.
"I don't care for water," he said;
"It has no food value and, ':besides,
I never get thirsty."
He was•a past president of the'
Chicago Vegetarian Society and
wasp.a delegate to a vegetarian
congress in India when he was 80.
At that time he flew around the
world N'
While Dr: 'MacGregor urged diet' ..
as.a means to health) he seldom
exercised.
"When ',feel the need for exercise'
he said. " I go lie down untilthe
feeling goes away." •
Dr. MacGregor had fractured his
hip early in February in a fall out-
side his office but was thought to
be making a satisfactory recovery.

Catherine MacGregor and Mrs.
George (Mae) Stuart. of Lucknow;
