• How Did You'
• Score On Last
Week's Picture?• .
Could you name the group of
young men in the "centennial
picture" in last week's issue? A lot
of readers came up with most of
the names'and there were Many
who didn't know tod many of the
faces.
If you were in the "close to 40'
years" age group:* you stood best,
chance,of naming them all. Or if
you were a hockey fan n the year
1944 45. and who wasn't that
year*: you also had a pretty good
chance of naming the Juvenile
hockey team of the 1944-45 season.
Only two of those pictured presen•
tly live in this area .*Doug MacDon
ald of Ripley and Don "Hammer"
MacLeod of.LucknoW. Doug helped
us out with a. few of the names we
were, not too sure of and advised us
that the team were defeated in the
0. M.H. A. Juvenile finals that
year by Port Colborne. It was the
following 'spring that • the three
Chin brothers went to Owen Sound
tory out at the Toronto Maple
Leaf HockeyCamp.
The team, reading left to right,
•and their present address where .,
known, are Red McConnell, Herb
• Cultiert of Detroit; Cec Yeo, Bud
Lockridge and 'Milton Brown, all
of Wingham at the time the • -
picture was taken; Doug MacDon-
ald of Ripley, •Bill Chin of Toronto
the late Bill Webster of Lucknow ,
GeOrge Chin of Calgary, Harvey
Pollock, then of Ripley and now, a
Sgt. with the•Canadian forces in
Germany; Bill Johnston of Toronto;
•Jde Agnew of toetroit, Don Mac-,
Leod of Lucknow,- Albert Chin f;
Toronto.
