28th; 1889, a• son of Thomas and
:Isabelle Hamilton.
On September,30th,'1914 he Marr-
ied Carrie Meadows.' Of Rockwood,
Following their, marriage. they lived
in Regina and .other railroad' tow.ns':
before corrning"to Lucknow in -1918
where they have been continuous.
and valued residents since that
,time.
Alex ,'as. -he was familiarly known
was:a railroad rnan for 48: -years.
He started.on the .old Grand Trunk'
in the Stratford area in 1907. For
five years from, 1910. to 1915; he.
worked for the C.'P. R, in Regina:
Alex returned to; the'Grand Trunk
and Caine' to Lucknow:as agent in'
July 1918. He: served'as'the Luck
now agent for :34. years during
which time the•Grand Trunk ama•l
gamated with the Canadian Natio
,.al Railways'. The last? 1/2 years
'.of his railroad career: were spent,
as Wingham agent prior to retiring
in October 1954. During this' time,
as well as•his'agent's work_, Alex•
trained a .great. number' of tele -f,
graphers for the -railroad

test in Kinloss Township, the
winner was Brenda Bushell, a Grade
S student at Kinloss Central school.
