Ripley Lady Passes At 85

Miss,Annie. Gillies passed away
at Kincardine Hospital on Thurs-
day, March 2.at the age of eigh-.
.ty-five years, after a long illness
Miss Gillies was born int Hurons;'
Township on January 29th; .1882..
She was the daughter of the late
George and Catherine (McLenrt-
an) Gilkes..' She, spent' many'
years in Toronto and, several
years in Cleveland; Ohio. Her
,latter years were passed in .Ripley.
She will be remembered for het
kind 'services in caringfor the ill'
in her family and'rnany'acts of
kindness,to•her'neighbors and
friends,
She was .a faithful' member of
Knott, prgsbyterian,Chufcti.

.. The funeral service was held at
the McLennan Funeral Home, Rip-
ley by. Rev.. D. Neil McCombie of
Ripley Presbyterian Church and: to:.
Ripley Cemetery.

Miss Gillies is.survived by her
brother Dan Gillies of Ripley and
many nieces and nephews.

Jordan and Mrs,. Marie Coleman

Heilbronn' and Mrs. Jessie Sanow
of. Cleveland Ohio.
