The regular February meeting of
the Lucknow Women's Institute was
conducted by Mrs. George Whitby
past president; in the absence of
the president, with,a good attend-
ance.

exercises,' lunch' was servedby the
hostesses in'charge.

gold .prospectors !before it was,
• founded 'as a community in 1864.

There were players for twelve
tables/of euchre at'Amberley Ora
ge hall on Tuesday evening of
last week. High prizes Were won by
Mrs. W. J, . Courtney and Mac
MacDonald. Winner of the 'lucky'
draw was Mrs. ;Donald Courtney,

efitdance which was held at Kin-
cardine Beach Pavilion on Friday
evening of,last week for Mr. and .
Mrs.' Bert' Walden whosed home was.
totally destroyed , by fire .recently;

Tuesday afternoon of last week.

An anniversary dinner was held _
on Sunday at the Windsor Hotel,,
Kincardine for Mr. and Mrs.
Claude Dore, Sr, on the occasion
of their 45th Wedding Anniversary
which falls oriValentines Day. -
The Centre piece on the head
table was a three' tier cake -which•
was baked by Mrs . Harvey Thom'
pson, and iced and beautifully
decorated; by Mrs, Howard Thom=
pson. The party was,arranged. by
' the family and was a surprise to
the Dores; and when asked if:he
would do it again, Mr.. Dore re-
plied that he would.
