Groin Ar'Short Of Budget Objective 'It has nothing to do with plough- ing, but a rather .startling statistic came out of the International Plo w ing,Match held, near Seaforth in October The Perth and' Hi ran. County Tube erculosi Associations hada mobile x-ray' unit thereand offered a free chest, x -:ray" to anyone' who, asked for .it . A total of .772 people took advantage of the free service This was the startling result: .When the medical specialists had completed their exarnination of the x-rays,. they; found that 45 of the 772 had chest conditions. that 'made further medical examination advisable .*The 45 persons were so informed , Of the 45 having 'abnor,- mal' chest conditions. two were described as having " urgent need" of medical..attention.. The fact that 45 had chest oond.- itious that warranted further med- ical examinations does not mean . 'that they were all. suffering from tuberculosis. Tile report,: does mean that those, 45 chests did riot look like normal healthy ones. These. 45: people Might have tuber culosis, Conditions or otherlu.ng..dis- eases or they might indeed have no present illness. The •Huron County'T•ubereulosis Association carries on'a' continuous effort to find ,out who these people are, in :order 'that they maybe; given help ' The Huron Association ;is spending at th'e rate of $13.,000 per year. Righ,;now only $11,693.30, has been su',bs4ribed . We believe .the people of Huron want 'the Association to. press on with its work of education; ..and chest clinics.
